These are letters and drawings are from first graders. They all got something from the story.
My favorite character is Wee Wee All The Way Home Piggy because she is beautiful. My favorite part is when she becomes an actress because I also like being an actress. This book taught me to be nice to one another.                      Michaela
My favorite character is the Have None Piggy because he likes to share and help people.

Thank you for sending a copy of your book. As I expected, my students loved the story. I typically would not read a book of this length in one sitting, but since they were so into the book they were eager to sit and hear the end! They loved the rhythms. They loved the story line. They loved the pictures. As their teacher I was so interested to hear what they had to say about the story, the lessons, and the characters. I was amazed by how they each connected with a character in some way. Some students found the story to be funny (the names of the pigs) but others felt badly for certain characters and wanted them to ultimately be happy. They wanted the characters to help each other. I thought you would be curious to hear what they had to say. Enjoy these letters from the children. You’ve written a wonderful book for kids (and adults) of all ages to enjoy.

My Favorite part of the story was when they built a mansion so their mama and sister had a place to live.
My favorite character is Market Piggy. He is really funny. I thought it was three stars. (the teacher wrote in; That’s the top rating in my class.) It was so funny I cracked up in my head. It was the funnist book ever. All of us had fun. It was funny because Roast Beef Pig only cared about himself. Also I liked the Piggy That Had None. He cared about everybody. I loved the story so  much. I really liked the ending.

My favorite character is the Piggy That Had None because he was friendly and kind. How did you make up this story?
My favorite character is the Piggy Who Had None because he cares about other people and he is very nice and he cares about his family.
My favorite character is the Market piggy because he buyed a lot of things. The lesson is you should care about other people. Don’t care about only yourself.
